reported by channels tv2 apart from the osun rerun election the threat by rivers state governor nyesom ezenwo wike that he will do something unpleasant to the officialpdpnigeria is the second most trending news in twitter nigeria1 he spoke during a consultative visit the government house in port harcourt by ibrahim dankwambo the gombe state governor who is also a pdp presidential aspirant1 according to wike during the pdps national meeting no presidential aspirant opposed port harcourt as a venue1 he therefore threatened that if they went against the decision that had been agreed upon by leaders of the party the people of rivers will teach the party a lesson1 he also said that the state will not support any desperate pdp presidential aspirant who is sabotaging the economy of the state adding that such persons should forget about its support during and after the national convention1 let me warn the party if they dare rivers state will teach the party a lesson. those days have passed when they took rivers state for granted. nobody can use and dump rivers state. no presidential aspirant can use and dump rivers state. we never lobbied for it we never asked for it but it will boost the economy of the state. people will make money1 the usually blunt wike on wednesday said his state will teach the peoples democratic party pdp a lesson if it succumbs to pressures from some presidential aspirants to move the partys national convention away from the state1 the governor however stressed that whether or not the national convention takes place in rivers the winner preferred by the delegates will emerge1 he added that at the appropriate time he will reveal the names of presidential aspirants allegedly working with the apc to scuttle the presidential primary1 i dont know why anyone who wants to be president will be afraid of a venue. then you are not prepared for the election1 nobody should dare rivers state any longer. enough is enough. pdp should know that we are not a punching bag. we are not people you can use and push. we are not harlots. whenever you want you come. when you finish you push us aside1 we will retaliate at the appropriate time. when you go tell your colleagues the presidential aspirants. we were not interested but having given it to us you cannot insult us wike said1 meanwhile he described governor dankwambo as eminently qualified to contest the position of president stating that he will be considered when rivers delegates meet to decide on who to support1 those who are against rivers people from making money to improve their businesses will not get our support1 -
Conduct Tribunal adjourns Sarakis trial indefinitely

reported by channels tv2 the trial of senate president bukola saraki at the code of conduct tribunal cct has been adjourned indefinitely1 he said the tribunal would await the decision of the supreme court on the appeals filed by both saraki and the federal government1 saraki is being tried on three of the 18 count-charge for false declaration of assets1 umar gave the ruling after listening to the addresses of both the defence and prosecuting lawyers1 in his address the prosecuting counsel mr rotimi jacobs urged the tribunal to proceed with taking the final address from the parties in the suit1 chairman of the tribunal mr. danladi umar announced the adjournment in a short ruling on the resumption of trial in abuja today1 however counsel to the senate president mr kanu agabi urged the tribunal to be mindful of the dignity of the supreme court and prayed for an indefinite adjournment1 agreeing with the defence counsel the cct chairman held that the tribunal has decided to tarry awhile so that the integrity of supreme court would not be played with1 the tribunal will adjourn this matter sine die pending the outcome of the appeals at the supreme court he added1 on tuesday last week the tribunal had adjourned the case till march 8 to hear the final address by the parties in the suit and for its final judgment1 the parties will have to await the decisions of the supreme court to proceed with the rest of the trial1 he based his request on the fact that the defence had already opened and closed their case and the tribunal had adjourned for the adoption of final addresses1
